Community

A basic precept of our operations at SMPS/LA is to contribute to the greater good of the communities in which we work and live. To that end, we are dedicated to finding ways to give back to other organizations serving the Los Angeles region. We support these organizations through volunteerism, cross-promotion and financial giving.

At the start of the 2007-2008, the SMPS/LA Board of Directors launched a program to set aside donations in the names of our speakers and special guests throughout the year that could be given to a designated charity at year-end. Through this program, we are pleased to have donated more than $5,000 to local charities, including Habitat for Humanity and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The recipient charity is selected by the popular vote of our membership at the annual holiday party.

In addition, SMPS/LA has been an ardent supporter of Canstruction LA for many years.
