The New Game Plan for Sports Developments
Date: Wednesday, September 2
This event has been cancelled/postponed.
For years, the sports industry has been able to handle economic fluctuations with little or no effect. In the current arena of mounting hurdles ranging from project financing to land acquisition, legal battles and voter opposition, sports developers' hands have been forced and new game plans drawn.
The paradigm has shifted to public-private alliances in which developers and municipalities are teaming up to tackle these hurdles. Through public assistance, developers hope to spin the recession in their favor and move forward with their projects now designed with the arena as the anchor to a mixed-use development. With the promise that these developments will invigorate the local economy by creating much-needed jobs and generating tax revenues, will municipalities step up to the plate? A recent drop in material and labor costs proffer added appeal, and designers and builders stand by and anxiously await what the future holds.
Coming to the table for a lively panel discussion are some of the region's key sports industry decision makers and experts who will speak to these challenges, share insights about what changes are foreseen for regional sports developments, and explain how this will impact the A/E/C industry. Don't miss this informative session and your chance to rally for the future of sports in Los Angeles.
