Mentorship as a Competitive Advantage
Date: Wednesday, May 27
As marketers we are expected to prepare proposals and major presentations, coordinate photography, organize client events, develop new business for our firms... this list of our daily tasks requires multiple skills and seems endless. A successful mentoring experience can give you the competitive advantage you need to meet and exceed your job expectations. In this interactive session, we will discuss the role that mentorship plays in the workplace, our professional networks, and our lives.
Both senior marketing professionals and newcomers alike should attend this interactive session! Presenters, Donna Corlew and Tom Smith, will address the following topics:
- Why mentorship relationships are beneficial for everyone;
- Types of mentorship relationships;
- Roles of both the mentor and mentee;
- Insights of personality testing; and
- Using mentorship relationships to help you today.
This informative session will conclude with a brief introduction of the soon-to-be launched SMPS/LA Mentorship Program. This program is designed to promote long-term leadership and career development through a one-on-one mentor-mentee relationship that is reciprocal, and provides opportunities for learning, growing, and expanding horizons. Together, participants will share experiences and advice on topics such as career advancement, professional visibility, practice strategies, overcoming professional barriers, and networking, to name a few.
So don't be shy about your ambitions - this program is aimed to help you achieve them! Join us and start sharpening your competitive advantage today!
