Take Control of Your Professional Career! There is no better time to expand your network, enhance your value to your employer, and take your career to the next level.
Don’t miss out on this once-a-year SMPS/LA benefit and opportunity to advance your career!
Deadline for Protégé Questionnaires has been extended to May 5, 2010
The Los Angeles Chapter of SMPS will launch our year-long mentoring program as a members-only benefit. The program is designed to promote long-term leadership and professional development through a one-on-one mentor/protégé relationship.
Through this program, protégé’s will have an opportunity to delve into the minds of their mentors and learn through personal experiences and structured lessons on such topics as career advancement, networking, the business development cycle and practice strategies that cater to the special individuals selected to embark on this professional journey.
As a participant in the SMPS/LA Mentorship Program, the Mentor and Protégé will maintain the following expectations:
Your Mentor will…
- Provide friendly professional support
- Introduce protege to the intricacies of the industry, trends, best practices, resources within SMPS, etc.
- Impart organizational skills
- Assist with self-evaluation
- Act as a companion, ally, and co-learner
As a Protege you agree to...
- Communicate
- Accept constructive criticism
- Act professionally
- Demonstrate initiative
- Pass on the gift of mentoring
A successful mentoring experience can give you the competitive advantage you need to not only meet the expectations of being a marketing professional in the A/E/C industry, but exceed those expectations. This program requires a firm commitment to the mentoring process; a willingness to invest time and energy, which are the most important components for a successful relationship.
