Message from President, Veda Solomon

Hello Members and welcome to SMPS-LA 2011/2012. I want to relay to you my excitement for our new season, new Board and new Programs. This year we want to inspire you with a theme:

Step Up to Your Potential in 2011/2012

This has a three-fold goal:

• Step up to your own potential by joining a committee made up of great people, gaining knowledge and expertise through our new Education programs, and attending our Panel programs to broaden your own network;

• Step up for your firm by spreading the word - represent them while attending our networking, panel programs and special events; and

• Step up your firm's potential by implementing the tools you take back and the relationships you build that will bring you closer to your clients, directly benefitting the growth of your business.

We aim to bring a full and dynamic program to you with no more talk of "the down economy and lack of opportunities." This is the year to get our mojo back by making important contributions to the A/E/C industry recovery in Southern California.

As your new president, I look forward to using my expertise in the industry and my experience as a former president for the NYC chapter, to move SMPS/LA forward with energy and focused purpose. Our 2011/2012 Board includes a few veterans and a number of new colleagues taking on positions as chair persons and pivotal committee members. Perhaps you would like to share your knowledge, energy and network by joining one of our committees and making a difference?
