Announcing the 2010 SMPS/LA Call for Nominations
February 26, 2009
It is true that "we are in the midst of an unprecedented period in our country, in our economy, and in the Society for Marketing Professional Services. Challenges abound as we pursue our professional and personal lives…" as stated by SMPS National President, Tom Smith Jr., AICP, SMPS, CPSM.
I read on the inside of a Dove candy wrapper this week, “Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.” The firms that are hanging on through these trying times need professional marketers with an extra edge to help identify opportunities and strategically orchestrate winning pursuits.
Now more than ever, our industry needs the support of our members and leadership as our companies strive to find effective ways to prosper.
We have opened the Call for Nominations and are seeking the future leaders of SMPS/LA: those people who want to stand out from the crowd, be visionary, and continue to propel SMPS/LA forward.Additional volunteer opportunities are available. To learn more about how you can contribute, contact me at (213) 223-1426 or erica.hauck@psomas.com.
The elected positions covered under this Call for Nominations include:
- Director-At-Large, Programs
- Director-At-Large, Education
- Director-At-Large, Membership
- Director-At-Large, Sponsorship
- Secretary
- President-Elect
Others recognize the value in SMPS. Our membership continues to grow nationwide, as do opportunities for education and networking. This is the direct result of the dedicated efforts of our volunteer base that enables us to offer a schedule of programs and events annually. Our ability to sustain relevant and valuable offerings to our members is contingent upon the insight and commitment of members who are willing to serve in leadership positions.
To apply, download the Call for Nominations package, which includes descriptions of the available positions, terms of office, eligibility requirements, and nomination process.
The deadline for submission is Friday, April 30, 2010.
